The practice was originally founded as Podiatry Wales by Gafin Morgan over 14 years ago but having felt the need to grow the practice and develop its services has now formed Performance Podiatry.
Gafin Morgan BSc Mchs Lic.Ac
Gafin is the Principal of the practice and qualified in 1997 from University of Wales Institute Cardiff. He has extensive experience in Orthopaedics, Acupuncture, Soft Tissue / Myofascial Therapy. He has a Licentiate in Acupuncture (Full Body) and a BSc in Podiatric Medicine.
Gafin is currently researching the mechanical properties of soft tissues using a new device designed to be used on the International Space Station. (www.myoton.com) He is currently investigating how soft tissues respond to trauma and also a comparison between healthy and not-healthy Achilles Tendons.
Registered Expert Witness, Vetted Member of UK Register of Expert Witnesses.
Gafin is Chair of the All Wales Musculoskeletal Podiatry Group.
Mark Evans BSc MChS
Mark qualified from University of Wales Institute Cardiff in 2001 and has spent almost 10 years specialising in Podopaediatrics or Children's Foot problems. He also has a specialist interest in Soft Tissue Therapy (Adult and Children) and Foot Orthotics.
Mark attends the All Wales Podopaediatric Group aiming to improve Childrens Foot services across Wales.
What is a Podiatrist?
A Podiatrist is a specialist in foot, ankle and lower limb disease.
Some Podiatrists carry out minor surgery, treatments for skin conditions, specialist diabetic care, arthritis care, acupuncture, injection therapy and sports therapy.
We are often thought of as professionals who prescribe Foot Orthoses or Specialist Insoles however this is only ONE small component of what we can offer.
